WDCS is horrified to learn of the death of a trainer at Sea World’s park in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday. She appears to have drowned after falling or being pulled into the tank with a 30-year-old male orca, Tilikum.

Friday 11th December marks the 40th anniversary of a young female orca being taken from her family in the waters off British Columbia, Canada, to become a captive orca performing tricks to amuse people around the world. She was given the name CORKY.
