Thank you to everyone who took part in our Abseil for the Whale!
WDCS would like to thank everyone who braved the cold weather on Sunday 7th February to Abseil for the Whale at Bristols Avon Gorge. 37 people took part, a mixture of WDCS staff, volunteers, supporters and our patron Miranda Krestovnikoff.
Miranda said "I really enjoyed the event, and meeting all the other enthusiastic WDCS supporters on the day. It was fantastic to be part of a group event where everyone had come together for the same cause. I am now ready for my next WDCS challenge!"
Please have a look at our Abseil for the Whale photo gallery.
Together we have raised well over £6000 and it is still rising - so well done everyone!
Abseil for the Whale is part of our annual Save the Whale Week which raises funds and awareness for our Stop Whaling campaign.
Every single participant showed immense courage in going over the cliff edge and abseiling the 100ft down. We were humbled by our supporters commitment and determination to help us to put an end to commercial whaling for good.
If you would like to register your interest for the 2011 Abseil for the Whale just contact the Events Team on 01249 449500 or email events@wdcs.org.
Please see the Get Active section of our website for more information and ideas on how you can raise funds to protect whales and dolphins.
