WDCS patron and BBC Coast and One Show presenter, Miranda Krestovnikoff, will be taking part in a 10,000ft skydive this September in support of the WDCS Protect Our Dolphins campaign, and we need your help to ensure that she reaches her target of £7,000.
Miranda helped us raise over £10,000 by participating in WDCS’s Abseil for the Whale event earlier in the year, but this challenge is a big step up… …about 9,900 steps up to be more accurate. Is she mad?!
As you can see, Miranda is taking this very seriously and is already getting some ‘practice’ in at ground level for the big day, and she is hopeful that with your support she will help us raise much needed funds to help us fight against the threats that these amazing animals currently face.

WDCS has learned recently that the UK government has just agreed to allow two companies to begin seismic surveys in preparation for future oil and gas development in the Moray Firth – one of which will be within the Firth’s Special Area of Conservation. Funds raised will help us fight to against this decision.

The dolphins already face threats associated with multiple harbour developments, increasing vessel traffic, and noise from future pile driving for hundreds of wind turbines and oil and gas development.

“After a recent successful 100ft abseil, I have decided to hurl myself out of a plane for WDCS in support of their important Protect Our Dolphins campaign, says Miranda. “The dolphins of Scotland’s Moray Firth are very special to me yet they face so many threats to their survival. Please sponsor me and help me reach my target of £7000. Together we can give these amazing dolphins a future. ”
WDCSs vision is that the whales and dolphins of the Moray Firth, including the bottlenose dolphins, will survive and in due course thrive in a clean and safe environment.
So, to realise this vision, we need YOUR help...
